David Roberts is the author of On the Ridge Between Life & Death, Escape From Lucania, In Search of the Old Ones, and Escape Routes among other titles. His adventure and travel writing have appeared in Outside, National Geographic Adventure, The New York Times, and other publications.
His long journey of remembering what happened to him and his buddies in Vietnam leads him into a raging case of PTSD. In summary, pharmaceutical treatment has clearly worsened all these illnesses. This was an eye opening time for me.
This book tends to become quite technical. Paleo diet is one of the best diets out there to lose weight and be healthy. Most of the photos are in black and white and of poor quality. I gained 15 pounds. Some people who are less vulnerable to the physical addiction can smoke a few cigarettes each day as needed to relieve anxiety. Also, I think she's a terrible mother and I can't stand her whiny kids. Like Josh Greenfeld's "Noah" books, this is an honest and beautifully-written account of the development of the author's son, a "low-functioning" person with autism. its difficult to highly recommend a book with so many spelling errors.
